We all know you are not supposed to take it during pregnancy.
…Because it increases the risk of miscarriage and cardiovascular problems in babies.
What the doctors don’t mention is that you should not take it when trying to conceive.
Apparently ibuprofen and other non-steroid over-the-counter painkillers block the egg to be released during ovulation and basically act as a contraceptive!
There was even a study where the scientists successfully tested the idea of using ibuprofen as a contraceptive!
It is enough to take it a couple of days before ovulation to stop you getting pregnant.
That blows my mind!
Did your doctor tell you that?
That’s shocking is how many women would benefit from this information!
What’s also interesting is that you would not even know about this fact because ibuprofen does not affect the hormones and your ovulation tests come out fine.
Does that mean that you cannot take ibuprofen at all while trying to conceive?
The good news is that it may be fine to take it occasionally, though not too close to your ovulation period.
And yet it is better not to take it at all while trying to conceive and use paracetamol as a ‘safer’ option.
Of course – Ibuprofen is just one of a huge number of foods/drinks/medicines which actually LOWERS fertility – yet nobody tells us about this.
Happy to go into more detail in future posts if anyone wants to know more?
